SUMMARY:Seminar & Workshop: 2 Key Pilot Lines for Semiconductor Production in Europe
DESCRIPTION:Svensk Elektronik is pleased to invite you to an exclusive seminar introducing two key pilot lines that are part of the EU Chips JU initiative\, aimed at strengthening Europe’s semiconductor industry.\nDate: 3 April\nTime: 14:30-17:00\nPlace: Kistamässan Conference\, Kista\, Stockholm\nLanguage: English \nAgenda\nDuring the seminar\, there will be presentations on two significant pilot lines\, followed by a workshop focusing on the FAMES Pilot Line. \nFAMES Pilot Line\nThe FAMES Pilot Line will develop advanced 10nm and 7nm FD-SOI chip technologies\, embedded memory\, RF components\, and 3D stacking\, enhancing IC performance and reducing power consumption. This EU Chips Act project\, led by CEA-Leti\, strengthens European microelectronics sovereignty by providing open access to EU stakeholders for research and development. Four hosting sites (CEA-Leti\, Tyndall\, VTT\, and Silicon Austria Labs) and seven other partners will operate a distributed pilot line\, integrating new equipment and providing training.\nOur speakers will present FAMES and the opportunities it offers for growth within the European industry\, research and academia. \nSpeakers:\nBruno Paing\, VP Europe & International Public Affairs\, CEA-Leti\nKarl-Magnus Persson\, Project Manager & Senior Scientist\, VTT \nA workshop will be organized around the FAMES Pilot Line\, offering attendees the chance to engage in discussions and explore collaboration opportunities. Read a short overview of the FAMES Pilot Line here. \nWide Bandgap (WBG) Pilot Line\nThis Pilot Line focuses on energy-efficient semiconductors and has strong Swedish participation. There are four Swedish universities involved in this pilote line that specialize in wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductors. Chalmers focuses on RF-power components in gallium nitride (GaN)\, while the universities in Lund and Linköping focus on material technology in GaN and silicon carbide (SiC). They also have activities in emerging materials such as gallium oxide and aluminum nitride. KTH has a focus on high-power electronics based on SiC. The consortium is led by the Italian research organization CNR and includes 14 partners in 7 countries. \nSpeaker:\nMikael Östling\, Professor of Solid-State Electronics\, KTH Royal Institute of TechnologyAbout the Pilot Line Initiative \nJoin us for this seminar to gain insights into these groundbreaking pilot lines and explore potential collaboration opportunities. \nPlease sign up here >>\n  \n \nAbout the pilot line initiative:\nThe Chips JU pilote lines aim to bridge the gap between research and industrial production and serves as a key part of EU’s strategy to strengthen its semiconductor industry. They are enabling innovation by providing at platform for testing and scaling up new semiconductor technologies. They also help reducing risks and lower costs associated with bringing new technologies to market.
