SUMMARY:Funding Opportunity for SMEs: Access Europe's Semiconductor Pilot Lines
DESCRIPTION:Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) working with semiconductor technologies now have a significant opportunity to accelerate their innovation. Through the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU)\, Vinnova is offering funding for SMEs to access newly established European pilot lines for testing\, development\, and prototyping of advanced semiconductor solutions. \nWhat Is the Opportunity?\nChips JU has established five world‑class pilot lines across Europe\, all designed to support cutting-edge development in semiconductor processes\, components\, and systems. Swedish SMEs can apply for up to SEK 3.5 million per project to use these infrastructures for activities such as: \n\nDeveloping new semiconductor process technologies\nDesigning or testing new components and materials\nProducing proofs‑of‑concept\nBuilding early prototypes\n\nThe annual budget for the call is SEK 7 million for both 2026 and 2027. \nAvailable Pilot Lines\nApplicants may seek funding to access any of the following Chips JU pilot lines: \n\nNanoIC – Advanced integrated circuit technologies\nFAMES – Materials and systems for next-generation electronics\nAPECS – Advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration\nWBG – Wide bandgap semiconductor technologies\nPIXEurope – Photonic integrated circuits1\n\nWho Can Apply?\nThe call targets Swedish SMEs working in areas such as: \n\nSemiconductor design\nProduction process development\nComponent or system development\nResearch and innovation within semiconductor technology\n\nTo apply\, companies must already have approved access from the relevant pilot line\, including documentation and timeline. \nWhat Costs Are Funded?\nVinnova funds only innovation advisory and innovation-supporting services provided directly by the pilot line\, including: \n\nLaboratory access\nTesting and experimentation\nTechnical support services\n\nNot eligible for funding: \n\nSalaries\nEquipment or materials\nTravel\nOverheads\nServices from actors other than the pilot line\n\nKey Dates \n25 February 2026 – Call opens\n26 March 2026 – Projects may start\n7 September 2026 – Latest possible project start date\n29 July 2027 at 14:00 – Final deadline for applications \nWhat to Include in Your Application\nApplications must be submitted in Swedish or English and include: \n\nApproved pilot line access documentation\nProject description (max 10 pages\, following Vinnova’s template)\nCV of the project leader\nBudget following Vinnova’s rules\nAll required attachments as listed in the call1\n\nAssessment Process\nVinnova evaluates: \n\nThe completeness and eligibility of the application\nThe organisation’s financial and operational stability\nPrior approval from the pilot line\n\nWhy This Matters\nThis call represents a major opportunity for Swedish SMEs to gain access to advanced European semiconductor infrastructures—resources typically out of reach for smaller companies. SUMMARY:Innovationsstafetten 2026
DESCRIPTION:Höstlöpning i nordöstra Lund\nInnovationsstafetten är en spännande löparfest som anordnas av IFK Lund Friidrott och Ideon Science Park för att hylla Lund som innovationsstad. Vi springer i innovationsdistriktet i nordöstra Lund när hösten sakta gör sig påmind. Innovationsloppet och Innovationsstafetten äger rum under samma dag som barnloppet Nobelloppet och Brunnshögskalaset. Alltså en fest för hela familjen! \nStart\, mål och växlingsområdet i Nobelparken på Brunnshög. Banan som är 5 km slingrar sig därefter norrut mot ESS och passerar igenom Kunskapsparken innan löparna åter vänder tillbaka mot Nobelparken. \n\nStafetten genomförs i lag om 2-4 deltagare där varje lag genomför 4 varv (delsträckor) à 5 km\nDeltagare i Innovationsloppet genomför 2 varv\n\nLund har sedan lång tid tillbaka varit en lekplats för innovativa idéer och många av våra stora uppfinningar såg världens ljus här. Studenterna\, universitetet och de många småföretagen är en perfekt grogrund för innovation och inte minst på området som sträcker sig från Lunds Universitet rakt norrut via Ideon Science Park\, via Brunnshög upp till nyetableringarna MAX IV och ESS.
