As a science park, we believe that we have an important role to play. We support the growth of innovative companies and industries.
Together with other actors in the broader innovation ecosystem, we are responsible for working to make innovation happen.
Our role includes offering a physical infrastructure. It includes office spaces, laboratories, and facilities that fit the needs of research and technology-driven companies. Ideon Science Park aggregates tech and deep tech companies with related businesses and research to create synergies and enhance the overall competitiveness of our region.
We also work to connect academia with the business sector, to facilitate access to knowledge. We collaborate with different stakeholders to make this happen. A science park needs to be close to a university, as the proximity allows for an easier transfer of knowledge, expertise, and technology from research to practical applications.
At the heart of the science park is the start up house. Within this greenhouse, we provide ‘incubation services’; support to start-ups and early-stage companies. This includes mentoring, access to funding, business development support, and shared resources. We also work to provide access to funding sources, venture capital, and financial support programs.
As a science park with an incubator, our role is to keep a community alive; to offer networking, help bring people together, and to match make. To help businesses, entrepreneurs, researchers, and others get together, we create and offer events, conferences, and collaborative projects. We encourage collaborative research projects between academia and businesses.
We also support companies scaling up as well as entreprises in need of attracting talents, networking, and who are in need of inspiration to solve a specific challenge. Our collaborative innovation workshops and facilitation gathering experts, can help companies get energized and injected with a new dose of creativity to address a problem.
