Society from Space Challenge 2026 – A Two-Day Hackathon
How can satellite data help us better understand and address real-world challenges here on Earth?
Join the Society from Space Challenge 2026, a two-day interdisciplinary hackathon bringing together Earth Observation, data science, social sciences, planning and other perspectives to turn satellite and geospatial data into practical, human-centred solutions.
Participants will work in curated teams on real-world challenges, including urban green value in Scania and environmental risks and opportunities in Nairobi. Teams will have access to relevant data and mentors and develop concepts such as maps, dashboards and decision-support tools.
You do not need to be a space or Earth Observation expert to participate! Students, researchers, developers, planners, designers, entrepreneurs and other curious minds are encouraged to apply.
