Fåhraeus and Industrifonden Invest in Trackpaw

August 19, 2025

Ideon company Trackpaw Scientific, founded by Liza Tchapanova Albrektson, has closed an oversubscribed funding round, raising 25 MSEK instead of the targeted 20 MSEK. The new investors are Industrifonden and Christer Fåhraeus’ fund FSG, each taking a significant ownership stake. Previous backers include Almi Invest, LU Holding and I Love Lund.

Trackpaw develops advanced cages for laboratory animals, offering unmatched capacity for data collection, measurement, and monitoring. The fresh capital will fund further development and the start of series production of their prototype.

The global market for lab animal cages is estimated at over €10 billion, with Trackpaw aiming for break-even by 2028. The company already has agreements with three customers in beta testing and is in discussions with several major pharmaceutical companies.

FSG and Industrifonden now own about 15% each and will take seats on the board. Trackpaw expects to need an additional 35–50 MSEK before reaching profitability but has already turned down acquisition offers, focusing instead on long-term growth.

We are thrilled to see the continued success of Trackpaw, a company that previously took part in our startup growth program at Ideon Science Park.
