STEM-UP – A Regional Initiative in Skåne
Addresses the growing need for expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The project focuses on increasing the availability of STEM competencies to enhance the region’s competitiveness, growth, and green and digital transitions. Running from January 2024 to December 2026, STEM-UP is a collaborative effort involving various partners. Ideon science Park is one of these and our role is to contribute with our experience in catalyzing innovation and supporting technology-driven companies.
We help develop structures, collaborations, and methodologies to boost STEM competencies in the region. This means that we engage with academia, industry, and the public sector to create a supportive ecosystem for STEM talent.
The project operates through three main tracks:
- Inspiring Children and Youth: Developing initiatives inside and outside schools to motivate more young individuals to pursue STEM education.
- Attracting International Talent: Enhancing Skåne’s ability to attract and welcome foreign professionals with high STEM expertise.
- Empowering Employers: Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises to strengthen their capacity to attract, develop, and retain STEM talent.
STEM-UP aims to build a robust regional support structure that meets the increasing demand for STEM skills in Skåne’s tech-intensive sectors.
