Sweden has a strong base of innovative technology companies. Turning their solutions into practical capabilities for defence and security requires closer connections between entrepreneurs, industry and end users. Tactic is a national project designed to strengthen those connections and accelerate the development of dual-use technologies, solutions with both civilian and military applications.
The project brings together Kista Science City, Ideon Science Park, LEAD, Sting and Uppsala Innovation Centre. Together, we, the partners, combine business development expertise, industry networks, test environments and access to defence stakeholders to help companies understand the defence market, validate their technologies and develop new business opportunities. TACTIC is co-funded by the European Union and Region Stockholm.
Ideon Science Park Contributes through Amyna
Ideon Science Park contributes to Tactic through its deep tech ecosystem and Amyna, our platform for defence innovation. Amyna connects startups and SMEs with established defence companies, military end users, academia and public authorities, helping shorten the path from an identified need to a relevant solution.
Within Tactic, Amyna brings strength in industry connections, including our relationships with primes and the armed forces. Participation in Tactic extends this work into a broader national collaboration. By combining our connections and experience with the complementary strengths of other innovation environments, we help create clearer pathways for companies to test, adapt and bring their technologies into use.
The shared ambition is to help more Swedish innovations reach the organisations that need them, strengthening preparedness, resilience and defence capabilities while creating opportunities for innovative companies to grow.
Tactic is a three-year collaborative project initiative bringing together Sting, Kista Science City, Ideon Science Park, LEAD and UIC to accelerate the path from civilian innovation to operational use in defence. Combining deep tech expertise, business development experience and networks across sectors, Tactic helps defence actors find and validate relevant technologies while supporting startups and scaleups in exploring defence and dual-use markets. The project supports the journey from challenge definition towards operational pilots through targeted matchmaking, open innovation challenges, business coaching and guidance on relevant funding opportunities.
Tactic is funded by the European Union.
