New National Call: Funding for SME Projects Strengthening Cybersecurity in Digital Supply Chains

June 27, 2025

Isaac Mintz, together with his colleague Veronica Fransson from MSB’s National Cyber Security Coordination Centre (NCC-SE), recently joined Sweden Secure Tech Hub to present a new national funding call focused on cybersecurity. The initiative targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that want to strengthen continuity management and change management within digital supply chains.

The need for this funding call stems from MSB’s national reports, which highlight real-life incidents and reveal clear deficiencies in systematic cybersecurity work across Swedish organisations.

Who can apply?

  • Viable SMEs (not micro-enterprises), registered with Bolagsverket
  • Not controlled by owners outside the EU
  • Must stay within the EU’s De minimis aid limit (€300,000 over three years)

Funding details

  • Max project budget: SEK 2 million
  • MSB covers 50% of project costs
  • Projects must finish by 26 February 2026 (no extensions)

Examples of focus areas

  • Tools for safer, smarter change management in supply chains
  • Solutions for continuity planning, testing, and resilience
  • Innovations in automation, risk assessment, and supplier security

Application support

Applicants can receive free advisory services and support with the application process from MSB/NCC-SE. In addition, Science Parks involved in the Sweden Secure Tech Hub (SSTH) project offer similar support, including help with innovation work.

The call opened for applications on 17 June 2025 via MSB’s e-service portal, and the deadline for submission is 1 September 2025.
