Could We Be Stronger Together?
The Nordic countries share many of the same challenges, capabilities, and strategic ambitions.
Yet collaboration often remains fragmented.
During Defense Day Track 2, we explored how Nordic countries can move beyond individual initiatives toward a more coordinated defense innovation ecosystem.
Participants in the work group identified several opportunities:
- Align strategic priorities across borders.
- mprove coordination of funding and procurement.
- Build shared infrastructure and testbeds.
- Develop a shared overview of Nordic testbeds, innovation environments, funding opportunities, and key ecosystem actors.
- Develop stronger cross-border industrial collaboration.
Rather than duplicating efforts, participants argued that the Nordics should leverage complementary strengths and present a stronger, more integrated innovation ecosystem internationally.
The discussions made one thing clear:
The opportunity is not simply greater collaboration. It is creating a larger, more competitive home market for Nordic innovation.
