Firewall Friday – Five Webinars on Cybersecurity for Smaller Businesses

December 30, 2025

Thank you to everyone who joined our Firewall Friday cybersecurity sessions and for your commitment to safeguarding your digital assets and working systematically with cybersecurity.

We hope the insights shared by our experts support you on your journey toward stronger resilience and smarter security practices. If you missed a session or would like to revisit any of the topics, all recordings are available for you to watch at your convenience.

If you weren’t able to join our Firewall Friday cybersecurity sessions, you can still access all the insights. Each webinar in the series is now available as a recording, covering everything from NIS2 and Incident Response to secure product development and protecting critical IT/OT environments.

Below is a summary of each session. All recordings are only available in Swedish.

1. How Systematic Cybersecurity Creates Real Value for SMEs

The first session in our Firewall Friday series — a 50-minute, five-part webinar program on how SMEs can strengthen their cybersecurity — kicked off with the topic: how systematic cybersecurity work can generate concrete value for small and medium-sized companies. EU experts have emphasized the need for clearer support, and a new best-practice standard is emerging to help organizations build business-driven, cost-effective security. In this session, Ideon’s Sara Egidius and Johanna Cederström shared practical insights on how a structured approach to cybersecurity creates real value for SMEs.

2. Secure IT & OT for Critical Operations: Understanding Security Protection Requirements

Our second Firewall Friday session explored how organisations working with critical IT and OT systems can operate securely within Sweden’s national security framework. We were joined by MarieLouise Arendt , a leading expert in security and preparedness and security protection consultant at 2Secure, who guided participants through what security protection really entails — and what it means for companies delivering defence solutions or dual-use technologies.

The session covered key concepts such as security-sensitive activities, classification of assets, contractual requirements, and the specific technical demands placed on IT and OT environments.

MarieLouise also clarified the rules for handling sensitive information and shared concrete guidance on processes, routines, and compliance. A highly informative seminar offering both a strategic overview and practical tools from one of Sweden’s most experienced practitioners.

3. Cybersecurity by Design: Building Secure Products Under the Cyber Resilience Act

Our third Firewall Friday session focused on how to ensure that product development is cybersecure from the very beginning — a topic that is becoming increasingly critical as the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) comes into force. We welcomed Samir Jasarevic, System Security Manager at Bosch, who shared concrete methods and lessons learned from implementing “Cybersecurity by Design” in complex product environments.

The session walked participants through how to perform effective risk analyses, how to document cybersecurity work correctly, and how suppliers of physical products with connected components can meet upcoming regulatory requirements. With practical examples and clear insights into the documentation formats and processes shaping the future of product development, this seminar provided valuable guidance for any company working with connected products.

4. Navigating NIS2: What the New EU Cybersecurity Rules Mean for Your Business

Our fourth Firewall Friday session took a deep dive into the complex annexes of the NIS2 directive, with legal expert Johanna Parikka Altenstedt from RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and cybersecurity specialist Johanna Cederström from Ideon Science Park as guides. Together, they clarified what the EU’s extensive new cybersecurity framework really means for the tech and manufacturing sectors, and how different types of organizations will be affected. The session offered clear explanations, practical advice, and concrete takeaways to help companies understand their responsibilities under NIS2. A valuable webinar for anyone needing to navigate the regulatory landscape with confidence.

5. Building Strong Incident Response: How to React and Report According to NIS2

Our fifth Firewall Friday session explored how organisations can build an effective Incident Response capability and how to report incidents correctly under the new NIS2 directive.

We were joined by Jessica Hallvede and Christian Kyller from Orange Cyberdefense, two highly experienced cybersecurity consultants with deep insight into today’s threat landscape and hands-on experience in strengthening organizational resilience.

The seminar covered what a robust Incident Response function requires, how reporting obligations work in practice, and who manufacturing organizations must notify when an incident occurs.

Participants left with actionable guidance on one of the most critical areas in modern cybersecurity, essential knowledge for staying prepared in an increasingly complex digital environment.
