Civil society is undergoing major change – and adult education is no exception. Public financial support is decreasing drastically. Yet the need for a strong civil society is greatest when the world around us feels unstable.

This means organizations must find new ways forward. So how can an organization like Folkuniversitetet – which offers adult education across Sweden – create a model that continues to reach people with courses, study circles, and lectures, without public funding?

At Altitude, we gather to solve. Collab Breakfast is our initiative for bringing together bright minds to solve real challenges over a cup of coffee. Folkuniversitetet offers a wide range of courses, training, and schools across Sweden – nearly 13,800 study circles in 2024. Their vision is simple: through knowledge, people gain the tools for richer lives.
