To ensure Europe’s competitiveness and usefulness in digitalisation, the EU is making a major investment with the Digital Europe program, part of which is to establish a network with European Digital Innovation Hubbars (EDIH). The EDIHs will assist small businesses and the public sector in their digital transformation of processes, products and services. The Science Park collaboration Sweden ICT is a platform that strengthens Sweden’s position as an ICT nation – now one of fifteen Swedish hubs has been appointed by Vinnova and the Government Offices to proceed to the EU’s EDIH selection process.
The new EU program has a total budget of € 9.2 billion and aims to shape and support the digital transformation of Europe’s society and economy.
– With Sweden ICT, we want to create a unified platform for digital innovation initiatives throughout the country for the target groups of small and medium-sized companies and the public sector, says Mårten Holmberg, project manager for Sweden ICT and business developer at Blue Science Park.
Increased awareness of Cyber ​​Security
An increased rate of digitalisation in society also means increased risks for both individuals and businesses, and therefore Sweden ICT has chosen to place extra emphasis on Cyber ​​Security.
– Through our network, we can contribute to creating increased awareness and preparedness about security, something that is of the utmost importance for the future, says Mårten Holmberg.
Focus on talent attraction
The ability to attract the right skills is crucial for Sweden’s future competitiveness. Therefore, Sweden ICT also focuses on the issue of talent attraction. During the autumn, Sweden ICT, with the support of the Swedish Institute, developed a digital matchmaking platform between Swedish IT companies and international talent. An AI will contribute by matching candidates’ resumes against published recruitment ads. The platform will be launched during the event Sweden Innovation Days, which is arranged by Ignite in collaboration with Vinnova and AI Sweden.
